Green lid - Rubbish bin

For remaining rubbish that can neither be recycled nor composted please continue to use your green-lidded rubbish bin as normal. We will continue to collect your rubbish every week and your collection will not change.

Please place your bin out for collection by 7am at the front of your property on the boundary, where your garden/path/steps join the public footpath, where it can be clearly seen and where it doesn't block the pavement or cause an obstruction to pedestrians. For most people there will be no changes from where you currently place your bins.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I put extra waste by my bin?

    No, we can only collect waste that is contained in your bin with the lid closed. Please do not put out extra bags as they cannot be collected. Please keep any extra waste for your next collection or take it to the Public Waste site, (the tip) located on the London Road.

     

  • Can I put business waste into my bin?

    No, your rubbish bin is provided for domestic waste only. Commercial waste cannot be placed in your domestic wheel bin. Businesses must make alternative arrangements for their commercial waste.

     

  • Can I have a smaller rubbish bin?

    Now that you can recycle much more directly from home you may find your rubbish bin is too large. If you would prefer a smaller rubbish bin please contact Coventry Direct on 0500 834333.

     

  • My bin wasn't emptied what do I do?

    If your bin was out for collection at 7am, but wasn't emptied on the due day please contact Coventry Direct on 0500 834333.

    Yes. You will continue to receive a weekly collection.

     

  • I need help moving my bin. What do I do?

    Assisted collections are available for residents with limited mobility, or where there is no-one residing in the property able to move the bin to the boundary. If you would like to request an assisted collection please contact Coventry Direct on 0500 834333.
